Westlock - September 2

Westlock Rotary Club sponsored the Rotary Club of Athabasca (25 years ago). This dynamic club with a growing membership of 70 + has provided entertainment and support in so many ways to this community.

Check out their Annual Dinner Theatre and major fundraiser Chaps starting October 15th. A sample from this year's show entertained Rotarians and guests at the meeting September 2nd.

Westlock supports many community groups and has committed $250,000 to their Spirit Center. Check out their many community projects including a skateboard Park completed a few years ago. The trip of the month gets lots of coverage in the local news.

The weekly bulletin produced by Les Dunford is exemplary...keeping President Rex and club members informed and connected. The bulletin showcases the extensive role Rotarians play in this community.

Their commitment to New Generations Programs and interest in starting an Interact Club is amazing. Great leadership and support to the District is apparent - as hosts of RYLA. Thank you Melanie and Laura! Inbound and rebound exchange students were a great addition to this meeting.

It was an honour to recognize PDG Albert Miller and Florence with a major donor award. Thank you Albert and Florence. Your support to the Rotary Foundation is appreciated and brings hope to many.

Westlock has been active in many successful international Projects: Orphanage in Mexico; Health Post, Didimtu, Ethiopia; Didimtu Integrated Rural Development project - Teacher's Residence - Water Supply Project...thanks Leo and Barb! Your booth at the RI Convention in Montreal was excellent.

Thanks to AG Terry Hill - Congratulations President Rex and Westlock Rotarians!
